2nd Dec 2021 | Local News

It is three days until the Winter Village arrives at Battersea Power Station and there is plenty lined up for the festive period.

The Winter Village will open on Thursday December 2 until Monday January 3.

And with the Nine Elms Advent Calendar starting on Wednesday December 1, visitors will be overloaded with festive activities.

Visitors can enjoy a walk through the tunnel of stars, past the candy cane forest before reaching the giant nutcrackers that will be hoarding the Winter Village at Battersea Power Station.

There will be a 30 foot Christmas tree with over 19,000 LED lights brightening it up.

Little ones can explore Santa's workshop with a special post box for the North Pole so they can be sure to get their letters to him before the big day.

There will be games and rides for visitors to enjoy including Youle Boules, Reindeer Toss and Feed the Snowman.

If you're running out of gift ideas you can pick up something for loved ones at one of the market stalls.

There will also be a chance to spread some Christmas cheer with Battersea Power Station's annual Give a Book for Christmas' appeal.

This is the third year of the appeal but the first that it will be open to the public.

Visitors can also enjoy their favourite Christmas movies at the Cinema in the Arches, including A Christmas Carol and The Grinch.

Sarah Banham, head of communities and sustainability at Battersea Power Station development company said: "We're looking forward to the return of The Winter Village back for its third year. With a great line-up of family-friendly attractions, gifts and crafts from local artisans in our Christmas market, festive treats from our great mix of riverside bars and retailers and the beautiful Power Station as a backdrop, it truly is a unique setting to spend quality time with family and friends."
