Thursday, March 9: Inspiring Women of Battersea - Author event with Jeanne Rathbone
Celebrate Women's History Month at NORTHCOTE LIBRARY with local author and Battersea Society historian Jeanne Rathbone.
Jeanne is on a mission to put Battersea's inspiring women on the map. Join her for a discussion about influential local women who have been largely erased from the history of the borough... until now.
Thursday, March 9 - Sunday, March 12: Affordable Art Fair
Affordable Art Fair hosts its spring edition in Battersea Park, London in March, bringing together a fantastic selection of emerging and established galleries from across the UK and around the world. With 1,000s of affordable artworks to suit every budget, you're sure to find the perfect piece – whether that's an original artwork to hang in your freshly renovated living room, or a piece to provide daily inspiration for your workstation – we've got you covered!
Friday, March 10: Das Brass + DJ duo Bifa & the Juice
Eclectic Party Bangers from red-hot Das Brass + Italo sounds and electronic grooves from eclectic DJ duo Bifa and The Juice at The Magic Garden until 2am.
Das Brass: A brass covers band who play a mélange of pop and funk favourites, balkanised afrobeats and twisted jazz standards. The band consists of traditional New Orleans style horn section instruments such as: trombones, trumpets, saxophones, sousaphone and drums. their sound teleports this traditional approach to the 21st century!
Bifa & The Juice: An eclectic DJ duo blending together Italo sounds and electronic grooves. This juicy duo will take you through their different cultures, Bifa is Italian and The Juice is British, during their unique set. They are joined by good friend Francesco and his bongo.
Saturday, March 11: The Greatest Showman Sing-A-Long Movie Night
"It's everything you ever want…It's everything you ever need" It's the return of The Greatest Showman Sing-a-long at The Grand!
Re-write the stars and join us for one of our biggest, best and most bombastic Movie Nights! Sing A-Long to the chart-topping soundtrack, watch in awe at performances from our amazing circus show team before & after the movie, and indulge yourselves on themes cocktails & food throughout! Also COME IN YOUR BEST EVER CIRCUS COSTUMES! It's all about your outfits… and yes there will be prizes, as well as an hour-long mini disco afterwards!
Saturday, March 11: Cantaloop + DJ Jon Bongly
Funk, Punk, Soul, Jazz and Hip Hop from Cantaloop – hitting you with immediate effect + DJ Jon Bongly spinning gypsy swing & bass til 2am!
Cantaloop have fused their organic funk and digital beats into one, cutting up in the studio to bring that mix of 'Ol Skool, New Flavour' to the live stage thus creating the perfect vehicle to appeal to both clubs and venues. They put the drummer in a box and embraced the cut and paste technology and their new found willingness to transform.
Jon Bongly is a force of positive energy spinning original and remixed beats including funk, soul, blues, ska, UK garage and assorted electronica. One of the pioneers of electro swing, retro remix and world beats in the UK, he also likes pulsing techno and wriggling tropical beats.
Until March 18: Truth's a Dog Must to Kennel
Truth's a Dog Must to Kennel switches between scathing stand-up and an audacious act of collective imagining. It's a celebration of live performance and a skewering of the state we're in now.
