The Met Office has upgraded its weather warning from amber to red this morning.

Storm Eunice has blown her way over to England and is wreaking havoc with travel across the South East.

Damage to buildings and homes, falling branches, public transport delays and power cuts are all likely at what is feared to be the worst storm in three decades.

All the Royal Parks across London have been shut and many of schools have been closed.

A red weather warning means there is a danger to life due to the winds and potential flying debris.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan took to Twitter to warn followers: "IMPORTANT: A red warning has now been issued for London. #StormEunice will bring damaging winds which pose a risk to life today.

Please stay at home, do not take risks, and do not travel unless absolutely essential."

Battersea Park Children's Zoo announced yesterday that they would close due to weather conditions.

Residents across London have been warned to stay inside between and travel if only essential.

The red warning is in place 10:00-15:00 today.
