Areas of Battersea will remain unmown this spring to encourage pollinators.

The areas in Battersea affected are:

  • Battersea Park (part site)
  • Christchurch Gardens (part site)
  • Falcon Park (part site)
  • Battersea Rise Cemetery (whole site)

This is part of the national campaign run by the charity Plantlife and supports the council's biodiversity strategy.

No Mow May will launch on April 29 and run throughout May.

Enable Leisure and Culture, who look after the parks and open spaces in Wandsworth, will allow particular areas to be unman across 22 sites.

Local people are also being encouraged to leave the lawnmower in the shed.
