Celebrate the new home of Battersea's Royal Academy of Dance this May

Battersea's Royal Academy of Dance is celebrating its new home this May with a free open day.

On Sunday May 8 people are invited to the new building 10:00-16:00 on York Road.

A spokesperson for the academy said: "This is an exciting opportunity for the local community to explore everything we have to offer."

There will be activities for all ages including dance performances, a movie screening, taster workshopss for children and dance workshops.

RAD will also be holding an open audition, for young people aged 4-17 who live in Wandsworth, the open class will be observed by Dame Darcey Bussell and a panel of dance professionals.

Up to three dancers will be selected to have free dance tuition at the new home and the cost of uniform covered.
