Part two of the latest exhibition at Cooke Latham Gallery is now open on Parkgate Road.[.l]

Anna Perach and Anousha Payne's latest exhibition, As She Laughs sees the disintegration of part one where three large figurative sculptures took over the exhibition space.

The sculptures are made with rattan structures and were filled with ceramic and tufted limbs.

These have now been propelled onto the surrounding walls.

The 'characters' were formed of multiple mythologies that inspire both artists' practices; female protagonists undergoing transformation.

The central sculpture, remains unchanged.

A large head acts as a centrifugal force within the space and as you move around it, changes appearances.

From both front and back, a face can be detected.

The wooden fronds that emerge from its mouth are an expression of the inadvertant spilling of one's true feelings.

A sound can also be detected from the head, which murmurs while attendees take in the work.

The exhibition will run until February, 11 and is free to visit.

The gallery is open Wednesday-Friday 10:00-18:00 or by appointment.
