Battersea's MP has called for the Metropolitan's Police Commissioner to resign following an official report published yesterday.

The report revealed the shocking details of officers sharing messages about killing black babies, hitting and raping women and the Holocaust.

Marsha de Cordova responded to the report by the Independent Office of Police Conduct.

Taking to Twitter de Cordova wrote: "The Metropolitan Police has deep-rooted structural problems with racism, misogyny, homophobia and bullying. To change the Met's broken culture, we should start by changing its leadership. Cressida Dick must go."

In the accompanying 30 second clip de Cordova can be heard saying: "The findings of this report were deeply, deeply shocking.

"But if we just look at this last year, we have seen that the Metropolitan Police has deep-rooted structural problems from racism to bullying to misogyny.

"Currently we have a commissioner in the job that I do not believe is fit for purpose.

"So does the Minister agree with me, that to really tackle the broken culture within the Metropolitan Police we also need to change the Commissioner."

The Guardian published how Met officers joked about raping women.
