Wandsworth prepares for massive jobs fair later this month

A jobs and skills event will return to Wandsworth this month bringing a range of opportunities in sectors ranging from retail, construction and customer service to leisure, hospitality and tourism.

Dozens of companies will attend the event, Employ Wandsworth 2023, hosted in Wandsworth Civic Suite on Friday, May 26.

Be it a first job, to climb the career ladder, take a new career path or find work closer to home, job seekers can attend free of charge to speak with dozens of companies.

In addition, information on training and development, free employability workshops delivered by Google Digital Garage and by South London Partnership on green skills courses offered by South Thames College.

Kemi Akinola, Cabinet member for the voluntary sector, business and culture, said: "We want our residents to get good jobs as close to home as possible. It saves them travel time and transport costs and makes sure it's local people benefiting from new opportunities. 

"Whatever stage you're at in your career come along, meet potential employees and get advice on taking that next step."
