The Prince's Trust will host a marketplace of female-founded businesses at Battersea Power Station this weekend ahead of International Women's Day on Wednesday, March 8.

As part of the youth charity's #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign, the two-day market will feature over 15 independent businesses founded by young women who have been through the Trust's Enterprise Programme.

In the 48 years since International Women's Day was first marked, strides have been made towards accelerating gender parity. But as recently as April 2018, salary figures reported accordance with the Equality Act legislation showed a 17.9 per cent pay gap in favour of men. Globally, 62 million girls are not in school.

The Prince's Trust has helped thousands of people aged 18-30 gain the skills, training and confidence they need to succeed in a range of career paths and entrepreneurial endeavours.

At Battersea Power Station, successful businesses founded by young women who have been through the Trust's Enterprise programme will include Pimp Up Your Plants, jewellery brand Kam Creates, cruelty-free candle and fragrance brand Nwanne Home, and African clothing and accessories brand Coconut Palm.

Visit the marketplace on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th March, 2023 (12 – 6 pm) at Boiler House North, Ground Floor, Battersea Power Station, SW11 8AL.
