A Saharan dust cloud is moving across Europe and could hit the UK by this afternoon.

However, in Battersea the sky is already turning an orange hue.

The Met Office have said the dust cloud, which is 2km above ground level, could fall during showers in southern parts of the country in the afternoon.

Southern parts of Spain and areas in France have already been impacted by the dust which is turning skies orange.

According to forecasters the impact is unlikely to be significant.

People are likely to see surfaces getting dusty and the air quality is expected to be slightly lower than usual due to the dust particles in the air.

The dust has been transported more than 1,500 miles to the UK.

Over the last two days the dust has travelled from Algeria and Morocco due to strong winds from Storm Celia, named by the Spanish Meteorological Agency.
