Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command have released an image of a man they want to speak to after a bus driver was racially abused in Chelsea.

The passenger, pictured, appeared intoxicated as he got on the Route 19 bus on Beaufort Street at around 11:40pm on Friday, October 12.

He was verbally aggressive, shouting and swearing at the driver of the bus, leading the driver to challenge the passenger's behaviour, telling him that if it continued he would be reported to police. The passenger then went to sit on the upper deck of the bus.

When the bus approached a bus stop on Beaufort Street, the passenger as he alighted turned towards the bus driver, swore at him and delivered racist slurs.

If you recognise the man in the image, or you recognise yourself, contact police by dialling 101 quoting reference 4811/13OC22.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident who has not yet spoken to police.

Alternatively call Crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or tweet @MetCC with any information.
