PC Ireland Murdock has been charged with rape

A serving Metropolitan Police Officer has been charged with rape and will appear in court.

The offence is reported to have happened on Saturday September 25, 2021 in Lambeth while the officer was off duty.

PC Ireland Murdock was arrested on Tuesday January 11.

Murdock was attached to the Central North Command Unit and has since been suspended.

He will appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court today (Friday April 29).

The survivor is being supported by specialist officers.
