Free parking over the bank holiday weekend in the Wandsworth borough's controlled parking zones on Monday.

The council are reminding residents that their friends and family can park for as long as they like in designated parking bays.

There is no need to purchase a pay and display ticket, pay-by-phone or display a parking permit if they use a marked parking bay.

Be warned that drivers using the car park in Battersea Park will need to buy a ticket as there is no free parking at anytime.

However the council has asked that people avoid parking on yellow lines are these restrictions will still be in force, as this is usually where parked vehicles could cause a hazard or an obstruction.

Drivers are also reminded to double check signs for bays which are only partially available throughout the day, to see when restrictions do come into force.

Motorists who obstruct driveways or park unlawfully in doctors' bays or mandatory disabled bays may also be penalised.

Divers should also not park across dropped kerbs.

Normal parking rules will also apply on the borough's housing estates - drivers who do not have a valid parking permit should not use these parking spaces.

Normal on–street parking rules will also apply on Saturday and Sunday.
