Installations to mark the Coronation of King Charles III will decorate Merchants Way, the public thoroughfare that passes through New Covent Garden Market (NCGM), connecting Wandsworth Road with the US Embassy Quarter.

Created by floral designer Sophie Hanna, the displays will be installed in two of the alcoves on May 4 and remain in place until May 9, to honour the crowning of the new king.

One alcove will be adorned with fresh and faux flowers and plants sourced from the UK's largest and leading Horticulture Wholesale Market, which has been in the Nine Elms community for 49 years.

Seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from all corners of the globe will decorate the second alcove.

To honour the beliefs and principles of His Majesty King Charles and Queen Camilla, the products in the displays will be fairly and sustainably sourced.

Tommy Leighton, Press Officer of NCGM, said: "The whole of New Covent Garden Market will be celebrating the Coronation – we're a patriotic bunch and we'd love to meet as many of you as possible on Merchants Way during the few days that Sophie's amazing installations are on display. See you there!"
