Battersea Park Road has traffic filtering measures in place due to emergency gas works.

Water began flooding the stretch of road between The Lighthouse pub and traffic lights at the Latchmere earlier today.

At time of writing it continues to flow from ground where tarmac near to The Latchmere bus stop has been disrupted. The bus stop, which serves routes 49, 319 and 345, is closed.

Gas distributor Cadent has deployed a large digger and two vans to the scene and confirmed emergency roadworks are underway.

The AA said: "A traffic shift is in place due to gas main work on A3205 Battersea Park Road both ways near A3220 Latchmere Road."

Drivers have been told by Cadent to expect delays until midnight on January 16.
