Wandsworth council has installed water fountains across the borough to tackle plastic waste.
The eco-project has seen 20 new fountains installed across Wandsworth's open spaces.
In a bid to help combat climate change the move is to encourage people against purchasing single use plastic water bottles or to refill ones they already have.
Most of the fountains have been installed and are already supplying fresh drinking water to park visitors, the remaining are to be installed by the end of this month.
The borough's green spaces have seen an increase in litter throughout the summer and have put up signs to encourage visitors to take their rubbish with them when they leave.
A council spokesman said: 'We hope this will lead to a big reduction in the amount of plastic waste we collect from our parks and commons.
"People can use the fountains to fill the types of re-useable bottles and containers that are growing in popularity, or at the very least stick to the one plastic bottle they've already bought and refill it when empty.
"As well as cutting down the amount of waste plastics we have to deal with, it also means a cash saving for people as they won't need to keep on buying lots of single plastic bottles of water."
The fountains can be found in Battersea Park, Wandsworth Common, Tooting Common and many more, the full list can be found here.
