Six restaurants, cafes, retailers and venues in Battersea are finalists for Time&Leisures annual awards.

Businesses across SW London and Surrey were nominated for the Food & Culture Awards 2022.

The nominations are even more rewarding this year after the strain the pandemic has put on the hospitality industry over the last two years.

Winners, Highly Commended and Commended businesses will be announced January, 28.

Lets take a look at the nominees...

No 29 Power Station

Nominated for Best Alfresco Dining with views over the River Thames and the Power Station.

This independent neighbourhood bar and restaurant has a contemporary interior and is the perfect place to socialise with friends.

Bluebird Brothers

Situated on the lively Northcote Road this local cafe has been nominated for Best Coffee/Tea House.

A family run business that is passionate about great quality produce made with care and love.

Their mission is to serve outstanding coffee which will transport you back to its origin.

Bayley & Sage

Nominated for Best Independent Retailer Bayley & Sage is located on Parkgate Road, just a short walk from Battersea Park, you will often see a queue forming out of the door on the weekend.

Whether you're looking for a cup of coffee, some truffle cheese or delicious fruit and vegetables Bayley & Sage have you covered.

With a florist and wine shop inside it's perfect for picking up last minute gifts too.

Aspen & Meursault

Nominated for Best New Comer this is a wine lovers dream bar.

The meaning behind the name comes from Albert Camus's 'The Outsider' with a convoluted reference to the root systems of aspen trees, but don't worry the only complicated thing about this bar, is its name.

Prioritising biodynamic and minimal-intervention wines this bar aims to demystify natural wines providing sustainably sourced food and drink to the table.

Macellaio RC

Also situated on Northcote Road you can find this Italian trattoria nominated for Local Restaurant of the Year.

Macellaio RC is a carnivores dream with beef tongue, bone marrow and tongue salad on the menu, just to name a few.

They complement their food and extraordinary Italian wine list, showcasing "wines of character" and paying homage to the produce of Italy.

Battersea Arts Centre

Nominated for Favourite Entertainment Venue Battersea Arts Centre hosts events all year round.

Housed in an iconic Victorian town hall, the Arts Centre hosts a variety of events, classes and performances.

And as part of the Pay What You Can scheme it's a space open to everyone with a commitment to making the arts accessible to all.
