Battersea Arts Centre nominated Stage UK's Theatre of the Year

Battersea Arts Centre announced yesterday (Monday January, 31) that they had been nominated Stage UK's Theatre of the Year 2022.

Taking to Facebook they wrote: "We're delighted to share this award with the brilliant @marlowetheatre who's incredible work alongside our fellow nominees @donmarwarehouse @royalderngate @lyricbelfast @pitlochryft has inspired us all during what has been a challenging year.

"Our huge thanks go out to our artists, audiences & funders whose vital support this past year has been critical in helping us continue to put access & our community at the heart of everything we do."

Opened in 1974 Battersea Arts Centre has pioneered change and is recognised as a creative hub.

Battersea Arts Centre has transformed the lives of young people, kick started creative careers and helped communities connect through making and sharing art.

The Arts Centre is now located in the former Battersea Town Hall which was built in 1893.
