Battersea has found itself the backdrop to plenty of movies.

Did you know that the borough of Wandsworth is host to around 10,000 days of filming a year, meaning that on any one day there could be three film crews dotted around?

And that one in ten movies shot in London, is shot in Wandsworth.

Just recently a film crew had set up in Battersea Park.

It is therefore no surprise when a familiar backdrop is spotted on your screen.

But did you know all of these movies were shot in Battersea?

Love Actually

Starting off with an easier one, we'd be surprised if you hadn't spotted the iconic Albert Bridge in this romcom.

In the final scenes of the festive favourite the Prime Minister (Hugh Grant) makes his way over the beautiful bridge towards the 'dodgy end' of Wandsworth, as Martine McCutcheon's character Natalie refers to it.

However, did you know that Natalie's road wasn't in Wandsworth at all, but rather in Herne Hill?

The Iron Lady

Although this movie divided opinion, if you did find yourself plonked in front of your screen loving or loathing it, did you spot the familiar park?

The scenes between Margaret Thatcher (Meryl Streep) and her daughter Carol (Olivia Colman) were filmed in none other than Battersea Park.

It seems that this star studded movie was pinching pennies where it could, deciding not to film in one of London's royal parks.

The Dark Knight

This one is for the comic fans out there.

Whilst we know the movie goes down in history for various reasons, including the phenomenal acting of Heath Ledger as the Joker and the sad fact of his untimely death just weeks after they finished filming.

But did you know that the scene where Rachel (the love interest to both Batman and Harvey Dent) is blown up by the Joker, was actually filmed in the then derelict Battersea Power Station.

We know it is easy to be fooled into believing it had been shot in that far away city, Gotham.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider

Another Hollywood blockbuster, with Angelia Jolie playing the legendary Lara.

The filming locations for this movie were exciting and dramatic, including Siam Reap in Cambodia, Iceland and our very own Battersea Power Station.

Director Simon West obviously thought that the empty building would be the perfect setting for this video game turned movie.

The King's Speech

Battersea Power Station appears to have been the favourite for lots of big time film makers.

Including this Oscar smash hit featuring Mr Darcy himself, Colin Firth, The King's Speech.

The heartwarming real life story about how King George VI, the Queen Elizabeth II's father overcame his crippling speech impediment.

The scene that supposedly takes place in the BBC's control room, with that constellation of dials, was actually filmed in Battersea Power Station, in their defunct control centre.

We wonder where the new hotspot for movies will be now that the power station has undergone such a huge renovation.

Any ideas?
