Lambeth: body recovered from the Thames is confirmed to be missing student Harvey Parker

Police confirmed yesterday (Thursday January, 6) that the body they recovered from the River Thames is that of Harvey Parker, 20.

Mr Parker, from Lambeth, was last seen leaving Heaven nightclub by Charing Cross station in Westminster at about 02:15 on Friday December, 17.

Police were alerted by the RNLI at 11:51 on Tuesday January,4 to reports of a body in the Thames near Embankment, Westminster.

The body was recovered by Met's Marine Support Unit and the death is being treated as unexplained.

Harvey's family have been informed of this development.

Detective Chief Inspector Lucy O'Connor, of the Central South Command Unit, said: "We are providing Harvey's family with all the available information.

"We are also asking for media to please respect the family's privacy at this challenging and difficult time."
