Covid-19 cases rose by more than 250% in Wandsworth in seven days before December 15

Covid-19 cases in Battersea are on the rise as omicron becomes the dominate strain in the capital.

Across the borough of Wandsworth cases are up by 252.6%, with 8,557 new cases reported in seven days prior to December 15.

Cases per 100,000 people currently stands at 1,184.7.

Battersea residents are being urged to take up the vaccine if they haven't already and all adults over 18+ to book for their booster.

Only 33.1% of adults have received their booster so far in Battersea.

  1. 1% of Wandsworth residents have had their first vaccination, 63.2% have had their second and 32.1% have had their third.

This is higher than neighbouring Lambeth, and Kensington and Chelsea.

However all three local authorities are lower than the national average.

According to the government website:

  1. 3% have had their first jab.
  2. 5% have had their second jab.
  3. 9% have had their booster.

Daily figures show that across Wandsworth borough there were 1,217 new cases yesterday (Sunday December 19).

Since December 1, there have been seven covid related deaths.
