With the gloomy January days upon us we know how important it can be to get out and stretch your legs.

What better way to do this than a visit to a local, independent coffee shop in your area?

We've lined up our top cafes in Battersea to visit when you need a bit of fresh air.

The Baguette Deli

Sat on Lavender Hill opposite The Crown Pub is this small French deli with the most delicious coffee.

If you are lucky enough to meet the owner on your visit then he'll greet you with a warm smile and hello.

The coffee is delicious and well priced and there is a small amount of seating available outside for warmer days.

Why not pick up a delicious pastry whilst you're at it?

103 Lavender Hill, London SW11 5QL, open seven days a week 06:30-17:00.

Pear Tree Cafe

Anyone who takes their walks in the park will be very familiar with this gem by the pond.

Pear Tree Cafe looks out onto the water but plenty of people take their coffees to go.

If coffee isn't your thing why not try one of their hot chocolates complete with cream and marshmallows?

If you find yourself in Clapham they have also expanded onto the common opposite the bandstand.

Lakeside Cafe Battersea Park, London SW11 4NJ, open Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00, Sat and Sun 08:00-17:00.

Doppio Coffee Warehouse

If you're looking for somewhere to take your laptop to work at then Doppio Coffee is perfect.

With big windows and long wooden tables to sip your hot drink at you can spend the day working away in the buzzing surroundings.

And if you're feeling really passionate about your coffee why not take a look at their shop, selling premium coffee accessories.

336 Battersea Park Rd, Battersea Park, London SW11 3BY open Mon-Fri 07:30-17:00, Sat and Sun 09:00-17:00.

Fresco Deli

For a taste of Italy head to Battersea Bridge Road where you will find Fresco Deli.

This tiny ode to Italy serves delicious coffee but is also the perfect spot to pop in for some lunch.

You can get pastas and salads from behind the counter or something sweeter to enjoy with your hot drink.

58A Battersea Bridge Rd, London SW11 3AG open Mon, Tues and Fri 09:00-16:00, Wed, Thurs, Sat and Sun 10:00-16:30.
