What's on in Battersea

Battersea Choral Society is performing Edwards Elgar's magnificent oratorio The Dream of Gerontius

For this performance we are delighted to be joined by the Tiffin Chamber Choir, with the mezzo soprano Catherine Hopper, tenor Andrew Staples, baritone James Cleverton and The Battersea Ensemble, all under the expert baton of Sam Evans.

Widely considered to be one of Elgar's finest works, it sets John Henry Newman's poem to music. It is a thrilling ride through meetings with demons and angels as it relates a devout man's journey after death to the soothing lake of Purgatory and the promise of re-awakening in Glory.

Time: 7.30pm
