Enjoy sociable guided walks on Fridays around the Battersea and Nine Elms area.
Get your comfy shoes on and join local poet and historian Hilaire on free guided walks and talks around Battersea and Nine Elms.
Returning for Spring and Summer 2023, these hour-long walks on Friday mornings offer a chance to learn more about the area and meet other people, all at a leisurely pace.
All walks run from 11am to 12noon, and routes have been identified in advance.
Please register via Eventbrite to book your place and ensure you have the right meeting point. We'll also contact you if the walk needs to be cancelled last minute due to poor weather or illness.
Routes
- Week 1: 21 April: Starts and ends at Battersea Power Station tube. Walk explores the Battersea Power Station development site.
- Week 2: 28 April: Starts and ends at Battersea Power Station tube. The route will take in Urbanest student accommodation development (former Palmerston Court) and Battersea Exchange.
- Week 3: 5 May: Starts and ends at Nine Elms tube station. The route will take in parts of the Thames City and Embassy Gardens developments.
- Week 4: 12 May: Starts at Battersea Power Station tube, ends at Battersea Park train station. The route will take in the Prince of Wales Drive development and Battersea Vista.
- Week 5: 19 May: Starts and ends at Battersea Power Station tube. The route will pass Cringle Dock Solid Waste Transfer Station and part of the Thames Super Sewer, and also take in Tideway Village and Riverlight Quay.
- Week 6: 26 May: Starts and ends at Battersea Power Station tube. The route will take in New Mansion Square (Peabody shared ownership/BPS Phase 4a), and parts of Savona and Patmore estates.
- No walk 2 June
- Week 7: 9 June: Starts at Nine Elms tube station and ends at Battersea Power Station tube station. The route will take in Merchant's Way, Arch 42 and parts of Embassy Gardens and Nine Elms Park developments.
- Week 8: 16 June: Starts at Queenstown Road train station and ends at Nine Elms tube station. The route will take in Stewart's Lane depot, Heathbrook Park, Carey Gardens and part of the route of the buried Heathwall river.
- Week 9: 23 June: Starts at Nine Elms tube station and ends at Vauxhall train, tube & bus stations. The route will take in Wyvil Estate, the Keybridge development, Vauxhall Park and Bonnington Square.
- Week 10: 30 June: Starts at Nine Elms tube station and ends at Battersea Power Station tube station. The route passes developments along Wandsworth Road and takes in St George Wharf, the U.S. Embassy and part of Embassy Gardens.
