What's on in Battersea

Join us for a free meal courtesy of Waste Not Want Not Battersea and a film screening of Schooling the World, a film by Carol Black, a film that takes a challenging, sometimes funny, ultimately deeply disturbing look at the effects of modern education on the world's last sustainable indigenous cultures.

Film and Feast was a year long initiative of the Inside Out School which ran from 2016 - 2017, hosting community film screening with the moto: Eat, Meet, Watch and Talk.

For this event, we'll be screening a film which has had a large impact on a lot of people who are working around the world to try to expose and unravel the colonial impact of schooling and imagine a different, rooted, respectful way of learning together.

Waste Not Want Not Battersea has been in operation since 2017 and is the first project in Battersea to collect surplus food from nearby markets and distribute it through local community and youth centres.

The Inside Out School is an incubator for alternative education which emerges when it's needed.
